How To Wear White In The Fall & Winter

Did you catch my recent post about how I opened my own online boutique? It is a dream come true for me! For the past five years, I’ve posted my daily outfits to this sweet little blog of mine, and now I get to style, curate and sell the clothes I love!

Whoever made the rule about wearing white after Labor Day could not be more wrong. I’m even thinking about breaking out my white pants for winter! *Gasp* I’m excited to share with you today a few of my favorite trends for fall, and how to make sure your whites don’t fade in order to slay the trends at max ability. 😉

Your Favorite White Top From Summer

I’m definitely going to be re-wearing this bell-sleeve top quite often this season. I originally styled it for summer, but pair it with a loose cardigan overtop and you have a warm look! Swap the sandals for booties and this look is being begged to be taken out for a night on the town.

Plaid is not going anywhere, ladies and gents. It has become a true staple in my wardrobe, and I’m proud of it. I love that this black and white version can be worn at any time and can go from day to night.

Sweaters & Blanket Scarves

Another great look is a neutral top or sweater with a chunky, white scarf. I’m completely in love with this scarf! I think I could style it 100 different ways. Oh, and it’s so comfy! Add your favorite pair of leggings and a knee-high boot and you’re practically RADIATING PSL!

These are just some of my favorite ways to wear white well into fall. Even if your main piece of clothing isn’t white, you still want to make sure things like socks, boot socks, hats, scarves, and more all stay crisp white as well.

Keeping Your Whites White

Even though I’m responsible for the upkeep of all these beautiful clothes, I have to admit, bleach is scary! I even shied away from using it for a long time because it was so daunting. It’s the key to keeping your whites white, but I felt like there was so much at RISK – the stains, the smell, the sheer power of it… Never fear, loyal followers. I’m here to tell you that my fears were unfounded and Clorox Bleach with CLOROMAX is completely safe and completely necessary if you want to look good in those crisp fall whites.

Once my mom gave me a little instruction, I can confidently say that I use bleach like a pro now. You’ll always find me picking up a bottle of  Clorox Bleach with CLOROMAX during my Target runs. All I do is use ½ cup of it in my white cycle. (Did you know that you can even wash dark clothes after using bleach on whites in a previous load without any additional precaution? Yes!) My washing machine does not have a bleach dispenser, so I first add my detergent to the water before adding clothes or bleach. Then, I add the ½ cup of Clorox Bleach to the water after my detergent but before adding clothes.  I add my clothes to the wash water after the wash cycle begins. Clorox Bleach with CLOROMAX has enhanced whitening power* so now you can wear your whitest whites all over town like the fashionista you are! Clorox Bleach will keep your clothes whiter longer*.

*based on stain removal vs. detergent alone
