Give me the perfect summer outfit and I’m a happy girl- Jesus sandals and all.
So, funny story about this jumpsuit. I quickly grabbed it as I was making my way to the register and my local Marshall’s. If you’re a veteran to the LCC I’m sure you’re aware that Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, and Homegoods are my jam. I went home and quickly got ready to meet some friends for a much needed drink and apps after a long week. Well, I tried for about ten minutes to get this thing over my head because I swore it was a maxi dress on the hanger.
Nope. It’s a jumpsuit. But an amazing one at that.
This week has completely flown by for me. What about y’all? So for those of you who don’t know I’m now back living in my hometown of Ocean City, Maryland. This week is actually one of the most exciting times of the year for us locals.
It’s the week of the White Marlin Open, the largest billfishing tournament with over $3 million worth of prize money going home to the winners. To say that it’s insane is an understatement! But I’m sure I’m not speaking for only myself when I say that it’s one of the most exciting, exhausting, and thrilling weeks here in OC. My dad was a boat captain and my parents ran our family’s marina for the first ten years of my life. This week brings back some of the memories that I cherish the most of my father. I remember how his face lit up like a kid on Christmas morning every time they brought a fish in. (Oh, he had the state record for largest blue marlin for about ten years, too!) I know it sounds like a crazy thing that just happens in this small town of ours, but people actually come from all over the coast to fish it. It’s like the Olympics of our town and I just love it so much.
So if you need me I’ll be waiting to see the next fish that comes in on the docks, hoping that it’s a friend’s boat, drinking a nice cold Orange Crush. (And wearing the most amazing jumpsuit, obvi.) Happy almost Friday everyone!
