I know we all have our little memories and things we celebrate each Christmas, but the cookie party in my family is taken VERY seriously. My sister went to culinary school with a focus in pastries so growing up this was always a fun way to spend time with her (we’re 17 years apart). Now that I’m older and don’t have the metabolism I once did I needed to figure out a recipe that would combat this. I never want loose the fun in this family tradition!

I’m super excited to be teaming up with Walmart today to share my Sweet Swaps™ idea! I searched the aisles of Walmart tirelessly until I saw this SPLENDA® Sugar Blend. I knew that just by swapping one cup of sugar with one cup of SPLENDA®, you can save up to 600 calories! It also helps that in this recipe I left out the eggs and replaced them with egg substitute. Do you know any little swaps that can really add up in the long run? It’s important when using SPLENDA® Sugar Blend to use half the amount you would of sugar.

Let’s get to baking and don’t forget to scroll to the bottom of this post to see how you can win a $500 gift card to Walmart!

Guiltless Sugar Cookies

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup low fat butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt
  • 1 1/2 cups SPLENDA® Sugar Blend
  • 1/4 cup egg substitute
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Stir flour, baking soda, and baking powder in a small bowl.
  3. Beat butter, yogurt, and SPLENDA® Sugar Blend with an electric mixer in a large bowl until smooth.
  4. Add egg allowing it to blend into butter mixture.
  5. Beat in vanilla extract.
  6. Mix in flour mixture until just incorporated.
  7. Roll dough into desired size and place 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets. Place and spread with a finger or fork for cookies to better flatten.
  8. Bake in oven until golden, 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand on baking sheet two minutes before removing to cool on wire racks.
  9. Decorate & enjoy!
