Who’s ready for another edition of our Beauty Encounters?! I’ve really come to love these posts. Beauty Encounters is where I share with you all the latest and greatest products I’ve recently tried.
Just like every other girl on the planet, I can’t go buy Christmas presents for other people and not treat myself to a little somthin’ somthin’ 😉 I picked up this NARS Orgasm Blush, Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume, and Anastasia Sun Dipped Glow Kit while shopping for my mom. It was a bit of a splurge for me to just go out and buy three new products that I’ve never tried before, but I was feeling adventurous I guess.
Let me preface this by saying the day I was in Ulta they were having a flash sale on this glow kit. It was $22 for the day. That’s almost 50% off so I just couldn’t resist! I had heard a lot of great things about this palette, and was growing tired of using the Urban Decay one everyday. (Don’t get me wrong, I still love that one, but it’s a little flashy for my everyday taste.)
I’m completely in love with this palette. I have found that I’ve used all four of the shades, which is unusual for me and my fair skintone. The Tourmaline is my absolute favorite color in the palette. It compliments my skin perfectly, and really enhances my deep brown eyes. Basically the verdict’s out, I’m in love with this glow kit!
I have a little bit of a confession… I never splurge on perfume for myself. Marshall’s always has a great beauty section, and they have a lot of great perfume options for less then $30. I guess I made this into a habit, and found myself only choosing scents that I could find at Marshall’s. (They always seem to have Betsey Johnson and Vera Wang.) As you get older I think it’s really important to mature and choose different perfumes. Plus, I love to collect the gorgeous bottles! Lately I have been rotating between this Marc Jacobs one and Tokyomilk Tainted Love.
Another confession: I’ve never spent more than $5 on a blush. Yep, I’m a drugstore fan all the way. But lately I’ve been on a big NARS kick. I talked about their liquid foundation back in our first ever Beauty Encounters post and am still a fan. I’ve even toyed with the idea of trying their foundation stick because of how highly Cathy speaks of it. This NARS orgasm blush was totally an impulse buy because they conveniently stashed it right next to the checkout. Will I continue to spend $30 on blush? Probably not. But I do really like this product.
