Beauty | 5 Tips For Longer & Stronger Hair

 Let’s be honest- my hair has been every length, cut, color, etc. I usually just let my hairdresser do her “thing!” She’s amazing, so if I’m not a fan of something she does to my hair, there’s no doubt that she can recreate my head into something I LOVE. (That’s only happened once, I might add.) In high school I decided to cut my hair completely off, pixie style. I loved it! And I rocked it until about midway through my freshman year here at SCAD. I soon realized that with it being so damn hot in Savannah I really needed to be able to put it up off my neck whenever I wanted. Now, my hair is just below my shoulders and is still in the growing stage. Let me tell you, growing a pixie out might just be the hardest thing ever. Here’s some tips I’ve put together to help you on your growing process!

1. Swap your usual cotton pillowcases for a silk one. Most people don’t know this, but all those loose hairs you wake up with is usually from the threads of your pillow snagging your hair! Yuck!

2. Use anything It’s A 10. This product truly is the miracle product. If you’re a loyal reader I’m sure you’ve heard all about it, but if not make sure to take a trip to your local Ulta or beauty supplier and pick some up. They are also now selling specialty products, like for blondes etc.

3. Get rid of your elastic hairbands! I can’t even begin to think of how much hair I’ve lost just from pulling out my pony tail. Swap your cheap, annoying, hairbands for something like this or this.

4. Cut back on the washing, and check what is in your shampoo & conditioner! You want your products, whatever brand is your go-to, to be silicone free. Clear shampoo has even proven to be better.

5.  Take Biotin. This is a vitamin to improve your skin, hair, and nails. Tackle three of the hardest for women in one once-a-day pill!
